QPR To Overcome Owls In Mid-Table Clash

Queens Park Rangers welcome Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with both teams looking to improve on their poor form since the restart.

Where and When

July 11th, 3PM kick-off at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Both sides have nothing to play for, in terms of league position, as the Rs sit in 14th whilst the Owls sit just one point behind in 16th.

Mark Warburton will be disappointed with his side’s recent run of results that has seen QPR’s slim playoff hopes shattered following just one win in five games.

The visitors have also won just one game since the restart but Garry Monk and his players can be slightly forgiven due to the off-the-pitch troubles.

The EFL have yet to deliver their verdict on the misconduct over the sale of the stadium to owner Dejphon Chansiri and will be hoping that a points deduction isn’t imposed as they sit only seven points off relegation.

Team News

Warburton may be without top goal scorer Jordan Hugill after he sustained a hamstring injury in their midweek defeat to Wigan but, apart from that, has a fully fit squad.

Meanwhile, Monk decided to rest Tom Lees and Connor Wickham in their recent loss to Preston, due to fatigue, but both are expected to be involved on Saturday.

Jacob Murphy is a doubt as he was substituted shortly after scoring on Wednesday evening.

Prediction

I predict an exciting and open game with QPR just edging it as they try to regain the impressive form they showed before the league was suspended.

Warburton’s side have scored an impressive 60 goals this season but the Owls will gain confidence knowing that the hosts have shipped 67 goals this season, which is the third-highest in the division.

However, the R’s star man Eberechi Eze will guide his team to victory and could add to his impressive tally of 12 goals and eight assists so far.
