Forest To Continue Play-Off Charge At Wednesday's Expense

Promotion chasing Nottingham Forest take on mid-table Sheffield Wednesday at the City Ground in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday. Forest sit in 5th place just four points ahead of Preston in 6th whilst Wednesday sit 15th in the table.

This could be a potential banana skin for Forest as in the teams last 10 meetings they have only won once, with their one win coming in a 2-1 victory in September of last year.

Wednesday will be facing an uphill battle though, as they’ll be without their two top forwards in Josh Windass and Sam Winall who are both injured. However, the Owl’s top scorer Steven Fletcher is expected to be involved.

Forest will have one of their key defenders available, as the experienced Michael Dawson has extended his expiring contract until the end of the season. However, Tendayi Darikwa is unlikely to be involved as he is still recovering from an ACL injury.

Potentially without two key players, the offensive firepower of Wednesday may be limited despite the presence of Steven Fletcher upfront. Forest will be hungry to cement their spot in the playoffs and with Preston North End hot on their tails there is more than enough motivation to do so. Come

the end of the season Forest could have booked their ticket to the Premier League, simply put this is a very good side. With players such as Lewis Grabban and Joe Lolley they look a formidable force and I can see this going in the way of the promotion hopefuls with a convincing win, with Lewis Grabban getting on the scoresheet.
