City To Continue Fine Form With Win At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea plays their second Premier League match since the break on Thursday as Manchester City arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Both sides have enjoyed an impressive return to England’s topflight with both winning their opening games as well as City winning their second match due to their game in hand.

Chelsea survived what looked like a shock result against Aston Villa on the weekend as they came back from a 1-0 deficit to take home all three points thanks to goals from Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud in a two-minute period.

The win was vital for the Blues as it extended their lead in fourth spot over the

chasing pack who sat on their tails.

For the reigning champions City it has been a period of domination since they came back to action.

They enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side as well as a superb performance in their 5-0 thrashing against Burnley at the Etihad.

The five goals were shared amongst three players on Monday night as young starlet Phil Foden and electric winger Riyad Mahrez both grabbed themselves two as well as veteran David Silva’s one goal.

It was not all good for City though, as their all-time top goalscorer Sergio Aguero was forced before half time due to a knee injury suffered following a collision from Burnley defender Ben Mee.

With Chelsea’s squad ready to go and firing from all cylinders they will fancy their chances of winning their second game on the bounce, this time at their home ground.

Their dominant displays since the Premier League has resumed has been an impressive sight and with an incredible squad depth, Gabriel Jesus is more than capable of filling in during the Argentine’s absence.

I think their immense firepower in attack will be enough to overwhelm the Blues’ defence, much like it has too many other sides this season.
