Brewster To Boost Swans In Play-Off Chase

Swansea play hosts to relegation-threatened Luton on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium, for a 12:30 kick-off.

The two teams have rather different destinies on the line in this game, for 9th place Swansea a win could put them back in the play-off positions, whilst for Luton, a win could see them begin the climb off the bottom of the table.

Whilst both teams will be hoping the only way is up, if the match is a repeat of their clash in December, it will be Swansea who comes out on top.

Luton managed to hold their own until the 82nd minute, when Andre Ayew did what he does best, and scored his 10th goal of the season for Swansea, seeing them win 1-0.

Since their meeting in the reverse fixture, both teams have only won four times in the league, but the Swans strong start to the season and their ability to scrape a draw has kept them contending for the play-off places.

Swansea’s Rhian Brewster is sure to be the one to watch out for in this game, the striker on loan from Liverpool, netted two quickfire goals last Saturday against Middlesbrough and was disappointed not to get a third.

Brewster only joined Swansea on loan in January, and since then has begun to build up a strong partnership with Ayew and Connor Gallagher, scoring six goals in his twelve appearances.

The Hatter’s will be secretly hoping their second-half super-sub, Callum McManaman will come to their savour again, as he did last week, equalising in the 87th minute to rescue a point from Preston North End.

McManaman’s mad 10 minutes won’t be enough if Brewster runs riot again on Saturday though, as he will be sure to add to his goal tally to help Swansea to victory.
